To offer a broader Charleston experience, additional JUBILEE events take place outside of Charles Towne Landing throughout the weekend. From the British Driven Shooting Academy and intimate seated dinners, to a bourbon tasting and a lively oyster roast, JUBILEE offers something special for every G&G enthusiast and those eager to experience more in the Holy City.

Friday, December 1

British Driven Game Shooting Academy

9:00am – 4:00pm

Join International Senior Shooting Instructors Chris Batha and Lars Magnusson for a British Driven Game Shooting Academy at Brays Island Plantation in Sheldon, South Carolina. This educational and interactive academy includes instruction on classic forms of British Driven Game Shooting, shotguns, clays, and cartridges; catered lunch, transportation from downtown Charleston, and an authentic shooting experience. Men and women of all skill levels are welcome to attend. Guests will enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres after the academy.

The Cult of Pappy

5:30pm – 7:00pm

Bourbon expert Julian Van Winkle III brings his highly sought-after Pappy for a limited private tasting inside G&G’s office located in the beautifully renovated Cigar Factory. Guests will taste pours barrel-aged for ten, twelve, fifteen, and twenty years. With only seven-thousand cases of Pappy Van Winkle produced each year, this is a rare and unique experience for bourbon enthusiasts.

Join Libbie Summers and Wayne Curtis for an intimate dining experience at the cozy R. Kitchen in downtown Charleston for just three seatings on Friday and Saturday night. Award-winning author, chef, and tastemaker Libbie Summers will serve five courses inspired by the rum making process, plus a few other surprises to the twelve lucky guests who claim a seat. G&G’s rum connoisseur, Wayne Curtis, will share the entertaining history of rum’s evolution while guests sip on cocktails inspired from his book, And a Bottle of Rum.

Gear up for a great night under the stars aboard the historic USS Yorktown. We’ll have bushels of fresh oysters, live music, libations, and a rollicking gathering of G&G folks. Enjoy this lively Friday night event offering unparalleled views of the Ravenel Bridge and the Charleston skyline.

Join G&G editor in chief Dave DiBenedetto for a meet and greet with renowned South Carolina sculptor Grainger McKoy at Circle Seven in downtown Charleston. Meet the Southern master and learn about his passion for carpentry and wildlife. Pieces from McKoy’s collection will be available for purchase throughout the weekend at Circle Seven and within the Marketplace at Charles Towne Landing. Steel Magnolias: The Untold Story with Julia Reed and Playwright Robert Harling

In honor of Steel Magnolias’ thirtieth anniversary, join G&G contributing editor Julia Reed and Robert Harling at Woolfe Street Playhouse for an afternoon gathering as they reveal the untold story of one of the South’s most beloved touchstones. This event was inspired by the piece written by Julia Reed in G&G’s tenth anniversary issue.

Join Mary Celeste Beall, proprietor of Blackberry Farm and Dave DiBenedetto, editor in chief of G&G for an incredible evening of culinary experiences and camaraderie within the impressive headquarters of Garden & Gun. Known for her renowned cuisine, executive chef Cassidee Dabney of Blackberry Farm will serve delightful and adventurous courses alongside James Beard award–winning chef Mike Lata. Blackberry Farm’s sommelier Andy Chabot will complement each course with exquisite wine pairings throughout the evening. Guests will be indulged with a remarkable and fun evening of food, wine, and great G&G friends.
